About

Welcome to Seeing The World In Steps, as implied in the title and the disclaimer first, this isn’t your average Travelogue where there will be numerous posts every single month or weeks. But hopefully even with my limited content, which I will share only when I travel. I hope to bring you around the world, the idea of this blog and me would be bringing my readers to see the world in small steps from an average working Singaporean perspective. This would also be like a little travel diary of mine, hopefully when I am old and my legs are failing, I would be able to reminisce my past travels then.
Recording down my various experiences, exposure and adventures from my trips, this is something that I would always like to start. Travelling is something that I really love, seeing the world, gaining new perspective, trying new stuffs and also expanding my Magnet collection. I personally do believe that travelling is something exceptional and we should make use of the technology advancement and “openness” of the world we currently own! Years ago it would have taken months to travel across the Atlantic compared to now where you could just jet across in an A380. From travelling, I would also be able to experience first hand interactions with the locals, exposing myself to their cultures, widen my perspective and way of life. Learning about the Roman Empire for example, seeing landmarks that I used to only see from my geography textbook. I do believe in learning from seeing, as an old Chinese saying “读万卷书行万里路”.  Being in Singapore also makes me yearn to travel even more, I would love to see how the world looks like and the culture that different regions and society have, after all despite Singapore being such a developed city, this is something that we can’t catch up on. Being a Singaporean also makes me feel so blessed, given that I have such a powerful passport to travel to so many countries Visa Free.

Some of my favourite blogs that I love are Ben from One Mile at a Time and Rachel from Dubai Dairies. Frankly, I am damn fussy when it comes to it, firstly their stories must be interesting to me and the style of the writing must be easy and comfortable to read, the organisation of articles, stories and their writing.
Although my dream is to just travel around the world, it’s kind of unrealistic given that I am not born with a silver spoon neither did I strike the lottery, thus I do hope that I could find a job in the future that allows me to travel. Speaking about my favourite place in the world, currently I am really impressed by Switzerland and I really love Europe, the people, the ancient cities and the culture, it just have that indescribable pull on me. While I continue my travels around the world, hopefully I can continue finding new places that impress and surprises me. I hope to be able to share my trips, reviews, itinerary here. I will also occasionally invite my friend to share their trips also.

Hope you enjoy reading. Before you check out my post here is a summary of the countries I have travel to.
